About Santacari

portrait2Ayya Santacārī Bhikkhunī a Buddhist nun in the Theravadan tradition (SE Asia) has learned and practiced meditation for over 26 yrs, 7 of those years in robes.

During that time she has learned and practiced many methods and approaches such as mindfulness, vipassana, tranquility, samatha, jhana and  open awareness.

Santacari has undertaken retreats  in Adelaide, NSW, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia and the USA. Meditation teachers include: Patrick Kearney, Sayalay Ariya Nani, Sayadaw U Vivekananda, and Pa Auk Sayadaw.

She has been fortunate to learn monastic discipline [vinaya] and deportment from Ayya Tathaaloka Theri and Ayya Sobhana Bhikkhuni directly as well as indirectly from Ajahn Sujato and Ajahn Brahm’s recorded vinaya classes.

She has attended sutta classes taught by Ayya Sobhana Bhikkhuni and Ayya Suvijjana Bhikkhuni at Aranya Bodhi Hermitage in the USA. She also attended a few classes at Santi FM in NSW taught by Ajahn Sujato as well as learning indirectly from Ajahn Sujato, Ajahn Brahmali, Ajahn Brahm and Bhikkhu Bodhi’s recorded sutta classes.
