Parade through the park and on to the Vihara.
So last Saturday our first Kathina at Dakkhina Dhammatthala Christies Beach was the largest gathering so far in this our first year. A friendly multicultural group of Dhamma friends gathered together to celebrate the opportunity to give Alms to the monastic Sangha. People from Australia, Sri Lanka, England, Vietnam, Malaysia, Ireland, Myanmar, Canada, Japan, came together in friendship to share a parade, some ceremony, good food, good company and good Dhamma. One of the things I particularly noticed was how everyone came together conversing with each other, without separating out into cliques. My heart was so gladdened to see such harmony.
